Amy Wu, MD, FACS, is a former Medical Review Board member with Verywell. She is a board-certified otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat surgeon) with a subspecialization in laryngology (voice, airway, and swallowing). Dr. Wu is currently practicing at Soho Otolaryngology. She has taught medical students, surgical interns, and residents.

Throughout her extensive medical/surgical training, she has pursued translational academic research. She has authored many scientific articles, including co-authorship with Nobel Prize laureate, Dr. Roger Tsien. Before founding Soho Otolaryngology, she worked several years in a large multi-specialty group in New York City.

Education

Dr. Wu graduated from Stuyvesant High School in New York City, the University of Pennsylvania, and Stanford University School of Medicine. She completed her surgical internship and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency at University of California, San Diego. She fellowship-trained with world-renowned botulinum toxin experts and laryngologists in New York City.
