Cathy Nelson has been working as a print and online journalist for more than two decades. She started her career as a newspaper reporter and editor, covering topics including health, lifestyles, business, and entertainment. She later was editor of a Michigan-based monthly glossy health magazine with a circulation of more than 350,000.
Currently, Cathy serves as the editor and writer of several annual special sections for Michigan.com which are published in the Detroit Free Press on topics including heart health, cancer care, Medicare, and the Affordable Care Act.
Cathy graduated summa cum laude from Wayne State University with a bachelor's degree in Communications.
