Balancing risks and benefits of any intervention is difficult, particularly in this era wherein patients are too overwhelmed with options and physicians are too burdened by the fear of liability that they can't give a sincere opinion. I believe education is key for improving health outcomes.
Cristian Zanartu, MD, is a licensed board-certified internist. He has worked for over five years in pain and palliative medicine at a cancer center in New York, and in parallel has built a primary care practice providing holistic care catered to a diverse population but with an emphasis on LGBT care.
Dr. Zanartu received his medical degree at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, in Santiago, Chile graduating summa cum laude. He then completed his residency training at Mount Sinai West hospital in internal medicine and went on to complete a fellowship in Palliative Care Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, both in New York City.
