Daphne K. Lee is a news editor at Verywell Health.
She joined the company in 2021 after managing news coverage at The News Lens, a Taipei-based independent media outlet. She spent two years in Asia reporting on cultural trends as a freelance journalist. After moving back to New York during the COVID-19 pandemic, she wrote about anti-Asian racism by exploring topics such as dietary stereotypes and media misrepresentation.
Daphne received a grant from Facebook for commissioning a series of COVID-19 personal essays titled “2020 on Hiatus." Her work on an interactive series, Hong Kong’s Last Stand: A Timeline of the Anti-Extradition Movement, was nominated for editorial innovation of the year by The Drum media awards.
In 2020, Daphne introduced the viral term “revenge bedtime procrastination” to a global audience.
Daphne graduated from Fordham University with a bachelor's degree in International Political Economy. She is currently a Master of Liberal Arts degree candidate in Journalism at the Harvard Extension School.
