Elizabeth Woolley is a patient advocate and writer who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in in 1993 while still in her 20s. Following the birth of her son in 2001, Woolley started DiabeticMommy.com after experiencing firsthand the complexities of managing diabetes during pregnancy. DiabeticMommy.com is recognized as one of the first diabetes social media sites, earning over 9,500 registered members.

As a writer and blogger, Woolley was a contributor to the Tucson Citizen newspaper and TucsonCitizen.com until it ceased operations in 2009. Today, Elizabeth teaches science for the Tucson Unified School District after graduating from Arizona State University in 2014.

Education

Woolley earned a B.A. in technical and multimedia writing from Arizona State University in 2014.
