Erica Jacques, OT, is a former writer for Verywell Health covering pain management. She's an occupational therapist at Florida Hospital, and has practiced occupational therapy for over a decade. She has extensive experience with orthopedics, trauma, brain injury, spinal cord rehabilitation, geriatrics and amputation. Erica is board-certified and licensed in the state of Florida. She has worked in a variety of settings, including home healthcare, acute hospital care, outpatient clinics and inpatient rehabilitation in the United States as well as the United Kingdom.

Erica regularly participates as both a staff educator and as a clinical fieldwork supervisor for occupational therapy students.


Erica attended Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy. Following graduation, she returned to her home in Florida where she continues to work today.

Since her graduation, Erica has participated in specialty training in hand and shoulder therapy, manual therapy, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord rehabilitation and therapeutic yoga.
