Julie Stachowiak, PhD, was a former writer for Verywell Health covering multiple sclerosis. Dr. Stachowiak worked on the grassroots public health level; her accomplishments included having founded an international non-profit organization and serving on the Boards of Directors of several others. She held a faculty position at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the Department of Epidemiology. 

Education

Dr. Stachowiak earned a PhD in public health from Johns Hopkins University. She also received a Master of Public Health (Maternal and Child Health) and a Master of International Affairs (Human Rights) from Columbia University. Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design.
