My goal is to communicate the latest research on food, nutrition, and health into easy-to-understand, consumer-friendly, "sound bites". I hope to educate and empower readers to make wise food, supplement, and health decisions on their terms.
Lisa Andrews, MeD, RD, started her career as a clinical dietitian for the VA Medical Center and shifted her focus from illness to wellness when she launched Sound Bites Nutrition in 2008. She has experience with chronic disease management as well as freelance writing, cooking demonstrations, and nutrition communications. She was an adjunct instructor for the University of Cincinnati for several years as well as a community dietitian.
Lisa is the author of The Healing Gout, The Complete Thyroid Cookbook and Heart Healthy Meal Prep Cookbook and provides cooking demos regularly in her community. In addition, she is active in her state and local dietetic associations, having served as the house of delegate, president, chair on professional issues, and media chair. She developed a line of food pun merchandise, Lettuce Beet Hunger, which supports programs that fight food insecurity in Cincinnati.
Lisa earned her Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Youngstown State University and her Master's degree in Nutrition Education from the University of Cincinnati.
