Healthcare reform tends to elicit strong reactions from people: It's highly politicized and very detailed. Helping you understand it is my job, both the big picture and how it applies to your own life.

— Louise Norris

Louise and her husband established their independent insurance brokerage in Colorado in 2003. Louise has used their website, the Colorado Health Insurance Insider, to explain health insurance to their readers and clients since 2006.

In 2013, she began writing for healthinsurance.org, covering health insurance and healthcare reform at the national level and on a state-by-state basis. Prior to the 2015 open enrollment, she wrote an ebook, "The Insider's Guide to Obamacare's Open Enrollment," which was subsequently updated for the 2016 open enrollment period, and again for 2017. She has also written "The Insider's Guide to Special Enrollment Periods."

She also writes about employer-sponsored health insurance and healthcare reform on ADP's Spark and Boost platforms, and contributes content to the HSA Store. She has been a panelist for the Brookings Institute.

Louise graduated magna cum laude from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in psychology, and minors in math and economics.

She's been a licensed health insurance agent in Colorado since 2003.
