As a researcher, Dr. Stibich has worked in Russia, Afghanistan, Mongolia, and Tajikistan to study how high-risk behavior is linked to health and life expectancy, particularly in the area of HIV and drug use. He has also conducted research on the impact of acupuncture on health and examined the impact of lifestyle and attitude on chronic health conditions. He's published in journals such as Open Forum Infectious Diseases.
As a consultant, Dr. Stibich has worked with companies in Houston, Texas, and with individuals around the world to help people make lasting changes to their habits that are focused on success and benefits. He applies a range of techniques from the behavioral and health sciences to assist clients in making healthy behavior second nature. He also consults on research studies examining high-risk behavior and health.
In September 2018, Dr. Stibich became a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
Dr. Stibich earned a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University. He received a master's degree in international health from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, where he also went on to receive a PhD in health behavior.
