Experience

Michelle Yang, MBA, realized she can’t advocate for herself, or anyone, if she doesn’t first admit her own struggles. Her determination to fight stigma inspired her to leave a successful marketing career in corporate America and become a writer and advocate. She launched her career as a contributing editor for Mochi Magazine, a magazine dedicated to amplifying Asian voices.

Her mission is to humanize and normalize the way we think and talk about mental health by fighting societal and internalized stigma. She has been in recovery from bipolar 1 for over two decades and promotes ways to live well with chronic mental health conditions.

Michelle holds an MBA from University of Washington in nonprofit management and marketing. She also earned a BA in International Studies from the University of Arizona on full academic scholarship. She's won a YWCA Women on the Move Award, a Puget Sound Business Journal Women of Influence Scholarship, and is a Flinn Scholar.
