Neesa Sunar, LMSW, is a licensed master social worker (LMSW) in New York. Since 2021, she has worked as a telehealth therapist with Valera Health, a virtual clinic. Previously from 2014 to 2020, Neesa worked as a peer specialist at Transitional Services for New York (TSINY), a housing agency in Eastern Queens, NYC. She's also lived experience with adverse mental health conditions, which gives her expertise that significantly enhances the quality of my clinical work.


Neesa received her Masters in Social Work (MSW) degree from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College in 2020. Previously in 2014, she completed a 450-hour peer specialist training program at Howie the Harp Advocacy Center in Harlem, NYC. She also completed training in recovery-oriented modalities, including the Copeland Center's Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), SAMHSA's Whole Health Action Management (WHAM), and the Hearing Voices Network's (HVN) way of engagement towards folks who experience voices.
