Rochelle Collins, DO, FAAFP, is a board-certified family physician who has been serving patients in the greater Hartford, CT area for the past 15 years. Dr. Collins has a solo private practice in Bloomfield, CT. Her mission is to provide excellent patient care through a focus on prevention and the promotion of health and wellness.
After residency, Dr. Collins joined a group practice in Connecticut where she worked in primary care. She left to pursue her dream of starting her own private office. She plans to complete her certification in obesity medicine in February 2020. She also has an interest in functional medicine to better serve her patients who deal with chronic conditions and weight related diseases.
Dr. Collins is an assistant clinical professor of family medicine at Quinnipiac University, where she provides teaching to medical students at her practice through their MesH program.
She has served on the Connecticut Board of Family Physicians since 2014. Her professional affiliations are with the American Osteopathic Association, a fellow with the American Association of Family Physicians and diplomat with the American Board of Family Medicine.
She lives in Farmington, Connecticut with her husband and two very active children.
Dr. Collins received her degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001. She completed her residency training in Family Medicine at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens, New York, where she was also elected chief resident by her peers.
My passion lies in educating myself and my patients in the ever changing world of medicine and holistic health. I am excited to be a part of the Verywell community which brings up-to-date information to the public and compliments primary care and preventive medicine which is my focus. Patient awareness of various ways to improve their overall health and communication with their primary care physician makes the doctor-patient relationship complete.
