Sara is a science writer based in Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina. She writes mostly for Discover Magazine, but her work also appears in Sierra Magazine, Modern Farmer, What to Expect, and Popular Science. She was a columnist for Discovery Communications from 2006-2013, where her work has been featured on Discovery Health, TLC, Animal Planet, and many more.


She's a candidate for a master’s degree in science writing from Johns Hopkins University (expected graduation 2022), and she also has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Georgia.
