Sarah Rahal, MD, is a double board-certified adult and pediatric neurologist and headache medicine specialist, with additional training in functional and environmental medicine. This background has afforded Dr. Rahal unique expertise in an integrative approach to health, particularly at the interplay of lifestyle, nutrition, and epigenetics.
Formerly an assistant professor of neurology and pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in NY, Dr. Rahal was active in training medical students and residents, and ran the institution’s high-demand pediatric headache program. As a recognized expert in adult and pediatric headache medicine, she sat on the board of the National Headache Foundation and is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Headache Society, and the Child Neurology Society. Dr. Rahal is now the founder of a bioscience company that innovates natural bio-actives for gut and immune health.
Dr. Rahal completed her undergraduate work at Georgetown University in physics and obtained her medical doctorate from New York Medical College in NY in 2009. She went on to a pediatrics residency at Westchester Medical Center in NY, followed by a child neurology residency at Columbia University Medical Center in NY. Dr. Rahal then completed a headache medicine fellowship at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in NY, where she remained on faculty. Additionally, Dr. Rahal is certified as a medical acupuncturist and has completed additional training in functional and environmental medicine.
