Susan Olender, MD, is a former Medical Review Board member with Verywell. Dr. Olender co-founded the first medical-student-operated free clinic in Manhattan at NYU’s School of Medicine and received university recognition. She continues to provide direct care for people living with or at risk for HIV and other sexually acquired conditions. She is also currently leading a practice transformation implementation science initiative around delivery of HIV care within her practice.
Dr. Olender received her undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany and earned her medical degree at the NYU School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Columbia University Medical Center and her post-residency training through the New York State Nicholas Rango HIV Clinical Scholars Program and also went on to complete a master's degree in epidemiology at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
